NBL 2nd Place Fuels Manchester Badminton’s Collaborative Drive for Youth Growth
The ShuttleStars program, Badminton England's junior initiative, has led to 483,000 children playing badminton weekly – the highest participation since 2017!
ShuttleStars inspires 7-11-year-olds to embrace badminton, fostering passion and development. Our own players, Cholan Kayan and Sid Palakkal, have supported the program, helping to inspire the next generation.
The momentum is generated by our Manchester team's strong performance, including our 2nd place finish in the NBL 2025-26, has been crucial in driving this surge.
We extend our sincere thanks to Badminton England for ShuttleStars and for bringing the Nationals back to Manchester. A special thank you to George Wood, Michael Reid, Pat Mills, Emma Eveleigh, Emma Foden, and Abbey Barry for their invaluable contributions.
As our Managing Director, Patrick Teh, states: "This is only the start. We'll use this momentum to make badminton more inclusive and accessible across England, beginning in Manchester. Let's keep inspiring the next generation of players and champions."
MB will continue to collaborate closely with Badminton England, local schools, and councils to expand badminton's reach, starting right here in Manchester. Stay tuned for more!
